The story line is somewhat similar to Dawn of the Dead. The movie starts with showing how most of the people have been infected by mad cow disease. But there are some who are not infected. The infected ones are called zombies.

Columbus played by Jesse Eisenberg is a student at the University of Texas, who is still not a zombie and the movie is about his journey towards his native place, coincidentally it is also named Columbus. He wants to reach home and find out are his parents fine, if they are still alive.

The journey makes Columbus meet many zombie’s who he has to kill to survive as the zombie’s are flesh eaters. He is joined by some non zombie’s, who he met on his journey home. The movie has a bit of horror and a bit of comedy which makes it revive the horror comedy genre.
