One of the most awaited movies of the year will be released later this week and already enough hype has been created. Two times Oscar winning actress plays the role of Amelia Earhart, who disappears in an attempt to become the first women to circle the world.

This legendary true story is directed by Mira Nair whose star cast also includes Richard Gere and Ewan McGregor. Richard Gere plays the role of Amelia’s husband, George Putnam. The role of Fred Noonan, the only crew member along with Amelia on that fateful flight is played by Christopher Eccelstone. The movie is already been shown at film festivals like the one in Doha Tribeca where it opened the festival.

The lucky ones, who have already got to watch this movie, are keeping mum but I am sure this movie will be grander than anticipated. I can hardly wait for the theater release for probably the best movie of the year.

Drew Barrymore’s first movie as a director has won harts all over. The movie portrays the story of a teenage girl named Bliss. Allen Page fits perfectly for the character of Bliss. Bliss is bored of her life as all she does every day is going to school during the day, working at a local diner in the evening and thanks to her mom, participates in beauty pageants at night.

Bliss wants to live a life of her own and when one she witnesses roller derby game in her town, she’s inspired enough to try out for a place in the team. But she is not 21 yet so legally she cannot play but she lies about her age makes it to the team as she is faster on rollers.

She hides this from her parents and this created a kind of comedy drama which keeps you interested throughout the movie. Congratulations to Drew Barrymore on her first directorial success.

Cameron Diaz plays the role of Sara Fitzgerald who is a mother of three, Anna, Kate and Jesse played by Abigail Breslin, Sofia Vassilieva and Evan Ellingson respectively.

Jason Patric plays Brian Fitzgerald who her husband and father to the three girls. The movie strongly revolves around Anna and Kate.

The only reason Anna was got into this world was to save her sister Kate who is suffering from acute promyelocytic leukemia. This frustrates Anna as she gets older and starts realizing that she has no life of her own as the only thing she does is does in and out of hospital. The relation between Anna and Kate is that of love and since Kate knew that hers was a terminal illness, she helped Anna to file a case against their parents.
