The movie portrays the story of a teenage girl named Bliss. Allen Page fits perfectly for the character of Bliss. Bliss is bored of her life as all she does every day is going to school during the day, working at a local diner in the evening and thanks to her mom, participates in beauty pageants at night.

Bliss wants to live a life of her own and when one she witnesses roller derby game in her town, she’s inspired enough to try out for a place in the team. But she is not 21 yet so legally she cannot play but she lies about her age makes it to the team as she is faster on rollers.

She hides this from her parents and this created a kind of comedy drama which keeps you interested throughout the movie. Congratulations to Drew Barrymore on her first directorial success.

The location where the shooting of the film is done is impressive. Apart from that it seems that the movie was only made because the movie makers wanted to have some fun in some south pacific beach. Probably they wanted to earn from fun and that’s how Couples Retreat came into being.

Vince Vaughn tries hard to pull the movie through but fails miserably as the other characters are not as supportive. Also I was disappointed to see Vaughn playing the same guy again and again in all his movies who seems happy outside but has insecurities deep within. Jon Favreau and Vaughn tried throwing as many jokes as possible but that didn’t save the movie from crashing. The only way you are going to enjoy this movie is putting your brain on a pause mode so that for a couple of hours your brain stops interpreting.

Imagine a world where no one knows how to lie. When at a restaurant, the waiter will tell you on your very face what he thinks of you or a date telling you that he/she doesn’t expect much from you and is spending time only because there was nothing better to do for the night.

These are some of the incidents that happen in the movie The Invention of Lying which is written and directed by Ricky Gervais and Matthew Robinson. The movie also happens to be the writer director duo’s first movie. Ricky Grevais is also the main lead in the movie playing the role of script writer named Mark Bellison who is probably hated by everyone.

The movie is all about Mark accidentally inventing lying and the change that follows. The movie seemed to be dragged later on as the director didn’t know how to end it. This is where the movie does badly. It would have been great for a short documentary.
